FAQ
The main objective of EUWAS is to provide public and private actors on local and regional levels in the countries of the European Union with up-to-date information on all relevant aspects of waste management. The site delivers a structured compilation and dissemination of data which are needed for daily work in bodies related to the waste sector. EUWAS helps thus to overcome the unfortunate situation of heterogeneous data collection and insufficient use of available high quality data.
As a result, this cross-border service enhances the quality of decision-making, improves competitiveness and helps to find adequate solutions when implementing waste management measures in the respective municipalities and regions. Through intelligent collection and suitable preparation and presentation of existing waste data EUWAS provides different additonal service as partner search and supplier forums, tender information, etc.
Each page on EUWAS has a set of features to help you navigate through the site:
There are different kinds of help and information in EUWAS available.
The aim of EUWAS is to provide the user with the information they are looking for in their own language or in a language they can understand, depending on the nature of the information.
The information and documents on the homepage, the sections immediately accessible from the homepage and the indexes are, as far as possible, available in the six languages: English, German, Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian, and Polish. Exceptions to this general rule are only made for information that has a very short life, e.g. news, or is very spefic. Specialised information is generally available in at least two languages: English and the one most commonly used by the audience the information is intended for.
Special arrangements for other EU member state official languages are being considered for the future, but this depends on the further development of EUWAS.
As described in FAQ under "registration and support" you have to register as a member of EUWAS. After the trial period all full members have to pay an annual fee for the EUWAS service. This allows the access to all functionalities, the download of documents, learning material, topic-relevant data and texts as well as personal settings in the my.EUWAS desktop where it is possible to store files, search results and much more on a secure personal basis.
May be there are additional costs when you order products which are not for free (e.g. from the EUWAS shop).
